About Allison

My name is Allison, as you probably already gather!

I grew up in the Seattle area, trying just about every activity I could manage! My most prevalent activities were competitive swimming, soccer and dance. The habits I learned from these sports at an early age has given me a love for fitness that I can't put into words! I moved to New York after graduating from the University of Kansas (random, I know) and pursued a dance career for about 5 years.

After several injuries, I put away my dance shoes and leotards and started working towards a WITS (World Instructor Training School) Personal Training Certification, which I completed after 30 internship hours at a gym in New York.

During this time, I started filling the dance void in my heart with running. I find running to be a very different workout, obviously, but more so it is what keeps me sane. After my transition out of dance, I decided to move back to Seattle to be closer to my family (plus I just seriously missed the Pacific Northwest!). I'm now working at a gym near me as a trainer and group fitness instructor. I am also a Level-1 Crossfit Trainer!

As you already know if you are reading this, I love running. I run almost every day, rain or shine, and it is my own meditation of sorts. Sometimes my runs aren't all puppies, butterflies or warm fuzzies, but I know the hard runs will always make the great runs that much better.

This is not me. Kara Goucher to the rescue!
"Your greatest runs are moments in time when running allows you to see how wonderful your life is."

Trying not to freeze to death during a half marathon in Central Park.
I race as often as I can and love pretty much every distance. I've completed 5k's, 10k's, 15k's, half marathons, marathons and even an ultra marathon.

I have also become quite the CrossFit devotee since moving to Seattle. I enjoy the functional workouts and have seen such a remarkable improvement on my running speed (I recently got 2nd place in a 5k!) that I make it to my local box whenever I can! I am also a Level-1 Crossfit Trainer!

One of the hardest workouts I've ever done in honor of the Bad Water Ultra Marathon.
After several years of severely resisting yoga, I have found a great studio and a form of yoga that I enjoy! Although I have a hard time getting into the "yoga mindset", I always enjoy the classes I go to and leave feeling blissfully stretched out.

I'm excited to share my journey called life! Thanks for reading!
